Lisbon School Board approves full-time kindergarten for next fall

by Janet Hansen

The Lisbon School Board, meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 20, made the decision to start a full-day, every day kindergarten program at the school next fall.

Mrs. Elinor Meckle, elementary principal, had recommended the expansion of the kindergarten program at the Lisbon School at earlier meetings and made a power point presentation to support her recommendation. Superintendent Steven Johnson had explained that if the school did not choose to start full-time kindergarten next fall, it would be missing out on a sizeable amount of state aid.
