Navigating the new Gazette website

We’ve had some feedback from some of our readers, that they’re not finding the site to be user friendly - not easy to navigate. We apologize for any initial inconveniences. The new site is actually created through WordPress which is a nicely done and brilliantly executed blog system. What’s great about a blog is that it is actually a very sophisticated database which allows for all kinds of things like rss subscription, the ability to search and archive articles, comment interaction, and more.

We’ve made some modifications to the layout of the paper that we hope will ease some of the learning curve issues:

  • Rather than a drop down menu for the News Categories, we now have them imbedded into the left hand sidebar. By clicking on any one of the categories, ALL articles (both present and past) that have been posted to that category will appear in the center column. These will appear in chronological order according to publication date in descending order.
  • If you prefer to peruse all the latest published articles rather than selecting a category, you may do this as well. All recently published articles automatically appear in the center column in descending chronological order.

Please, let us know your thoughts on how we might better present your online news. Your feedback would be appreciated. Please email or phone us directly at the Gazette, or email the Web Editor directly. It’s helpful to receive feedback with details that might help us address and adjust specific issues.

Thank you.
