Melodrama at Opera House on Mother’s Day weekend

Matchmaker Augusta Booth (Darline Levang) far left, and Fluffy Souffle (Debbie Bergstrom) seated at table, watch in amazement as Mrs. Murphy (Justine Nieves) communicates with the mysterious and frequently frightening Nanook (mystery person).The melodrama “Who Threw the Overalls in Mrs. Murphy’s Chowder or…You Are What You Eat” is being presented at the Lisbon Opera House beginning onThursday, May 8 through Sunday, May 11. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and the Sunday (Mother’s Day) performance begins at 2:30 p.m.

This rollicking melodrama takes place during the Alaskan gold rush where life is anything but normal. It naturally features a hero, heroine and a dastardly villain who is sure to be up to no good.

The zany cast of characters include veteran NNP thespians Debbie Bergstrom, Tanya Birklid, Terry Brown, Robert Bubach, Morgan Bubach, Jason Dick, Julie Hieggelke, Darline Levang, Tiffany Rinkenberger, Kathryn Smith, Patty Well and Wes Well along with newcomers to the opera house stage, Lance Gulleson, Lynsee Langsdon, and Justine Nieves.  The director of this production is Chuck Long.
