Ernest Dean Carlblom, age 67, of Bemidji, MN died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center, Bemidji, MN.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at First Lutheran Church, Bemidji, MN, with Pastor Lee Yarger officiating.
Interment at Stiklestad Cemetery, Fort Ransom, ND.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, MN.
Pallbearers will be Terry Carlblom, Eric Christeson, Joel Doll, Charles Artac, Chad Carlblom and Douglas Hoover.
Ernest Dean Carlblom was born November 2, 1943 in Lisbon to Ernest and Dorothy (Adolf) Carlblom. He lived in Fort Ransom, from 1943-1964 where he attended Fort Ransom Elementary School, graduated from Fort Ransom High School and Ellendale State Teachers College. He married JoAnne Hanson on Aug. 16, 1964 in Fort Ransom. After his marriage he taught in Rolla, Fort Ransom, Holdingford, MN and Alexandria, MN. In 1996 they moved to Bemidji, MN and he worked for Education Minnesota as a field representative. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and was on the church council. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Carlblom, Bemidji, MN; son, Jeff (Sheila) Carlblom, Horace; daughters, Michelle (Joel) Doll, Sioux Falls, SD, Stephanie (Eric) Christeson, Fargo, and Catherine (Charles) Artac, Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Ashley (Jared) Hunt, Terry Carlblom, Rachel Doll, Nathan Doll, Ian Christeson, Zachary Christeson, Elizabeth Artac and Jacob Artac; mother, Dorothy Carlblom, Jamestown; sister, Elizabeth (Ron) Rick, Jamestown; brothers, Dennis (Corlys) Carlblom, Pelican Rapids, MN and Darell (Julie) Carlblom, Byron, MN.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Carlblom.
Memorials are preferred to the Stiklestad Cemetery Association, American Cancer Society and M.S. Society.
