David Roach

Funeral services for D. David Roach, 84, Lisbon, formerly Fort Ransom, were held July 23, 2012 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Lisbon. Father Jerald Finnestad officiated. Mr. Roach passed away July 20, 2012 at Parkside Lutheran Home, Lisbon.

D. David Roach, son of Daniel and Leona (Oestreicher) Roach, was born Sept. 16, 1927 in rural Lisbon. He attended rural Lisbon, Fort Ransom and Lisbon Schools. He owned and operated Dave’s Repair Shop, worked for the ND Forestry Dept., ND Weights and Measures and various farmers.

He married Shirley Y. Holm on Nov. 25, 1954 in Lisbon. She passed away on Apr. 6, 2008.

He is survived by daughters Leona Roach, Springfield, MO and Susan (Marvin) Swanson, Lisbon; son Michael (Bea) Roach, Lisbon; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers Bud (Sharon) Roach, Bismarck, Jimmy (Googs) Roach, Lisbon.

He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley.

Pallbearers for the funeral were Gerry Roach, Kent Roach, Dan Roach, Darrin Roach, Preston Roach, Jasper Bjugstad, Eric Lien and Harvey Hoenhause.

Music was provided by organist Sheila Musland, Cantor Kris Long, and special music by Dale Haugen.

Interment at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery, Lisbon.

Armstrong Funeral Home, Lisbon was in charge of arrangements.
